Why this convention? 

There is undeniably a slowdown that has impacted global economies. Fortunately, most indicators suggest that India has been affected far less than western economies recent macro conomic indicators as well as corporate results provide this evidence.

Recruitment is certainly down, as borne out by firs hand experiences of recruiters as well as plans laid out by corporates. In this scenario, most recruiters have taken the traditional route of hunkering down in their bunkers, and waiting for the blizzard to pass.

However, the foundation for success is often laid in such trying times. Important victories have been won by launching innovations, clearing the cobwebs, building team spirit, and learning new skills during such ostensibly lean periods. 

What is the learning for a recruiter?

ERA Delhi’s Annual Convention for Recruiters, on March 20 2009 aims to facilitate precisely this. To provide a forum that inspires a iscussion on how recruiters can use the current slowdown as an opportunity to build skills individuals and efficiencies in the organization.
